Ferrari, the renowned Italian brand for luxury sports cars, has recently introduced their exclusive KC23 model. This vehicle is coated in a special liquid-metal infused paint and boasts movable body parts.
It hasn’t been too long since Ferrari unveiled a new model. Just two weeks back, the renowned Italian luxury sports car manufacturer presented the SF90 XX. And now, they have introduced yet another special creation – the Ferrari KC23. This particular supercar is even more exclusive than its predecessor, primarily because it’s a strictly one-off track-only model without a license plate. What’s more, the Ferrari KC23 boasts a highly distinctive design, setting it apart from any other model in its league.
The Ferrari KC23 takes inspiration from both the Vision Gran Turismo and 499P endurance hypercar in terms of its design cues, however, it is important to note that its foundation lies in the 488 GT3. Nevertheless, the 488 GT3 Evo used as the base vehicle has undergone substantial alterations. The most notable of these changes is the implementation of motorized side body panels which can open the air intakes to facilitate active aero.
The previous racing design has been replaced with a fresh and unique paint called ‘Gold Mercury’ that has an aluminum-like texture. The four-layer paintwork contains liquid metal to give it its distinctive appearance. While this could be an expensive upgrade, the individual who requested it is supposedly a passionate, imaginative, and meticulous client who may have paid for it without any difficulty.
The Ferrari KC23 underwent some major customizations as per the customer’s preferences. The most notable change is the addition of a massive rear wing, which can be detached if needed. The traditional mirrors have been replaced with side cameras to enhance visibility and also to improve the car’s airflow. The car sits on 18-inch wheels that are adorned with slick tires, but it also comes with another set of 21-inch front and 22-inch rear alloys, purely for aesthetic reasons. These changes were made to make the car look more appealing when put on display.
The interior of the KC23 features a stripped-back design, complete with two bucket seats and a range of switches that were carried over from the 488 GT3 Evo. However, Ferrari has added a full roll cage and a race-spec steering wheel that boasts an impressive 16 controls. While it remains unclear whether the twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 has been modified, the engine in the 488 GT3 Evo generates an impressive 600 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of torque. Fans of the car are eagerly anticipating the debut of the KC23 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where they hope to learn more about this exciting new model.
